Raman Spectometer

The spectral range of the Raman spectrometer of the nanotechnology lab has been expanded to the near infrared for wavelengths up to 1.75 µm.

The recent installation of new optical components and an InGaAs single-channel detector allows to perform spectroscopical measurements beyond the spectral range of the conventional CCD camera. Such an update of the micro-Raman setup has been complemented with the acquisition of He-flow cryostat which fits under the microscope of the LabRam spectrometer.

This enables the study of the optical properties of materials in the temperature range from room temperature down to 4 K. In this way, new areas of material research open up for the study and characterization of the optical, electronic and vibrational properties of micro/nanostructures, for example, self-assembled SiGe quantum dots grown by molecular-beam epitaxy at ICMAB-CSIC.
