Job Opportunity in hydrogen storage print email

The Group of Nanomaterials and Microsystems (GNaM) of the physics department at the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona (UAB) is looking for a chemist/physicist/ material science degree or engineer to work within an industrial project with Air Products & Chemiclas on the “recovery and/or storage of hydrogen”

The research will be carried out at the UAB and the MATGAS research centre in the UAB campus and will mainly consist on the preparation and characterization of nanostructured metal hydrides for hydrogen storage applications.
The position is for 12 month and suits a motivated individual with a solid background in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science or related discipline
A highly motivated applicant should have a relevant PhD (inorganic chemistry, solid state physics or material science) in the last 3 years or experience in thermodynamic and kinetic characterization (PCT measurements, thermogravimetry; differential scanning calorimetry) and structural analysis (X-ray diffraction, spectroscopy).

The preferred starting date is January 2009. The salary will be defined by the experience of the candidate. The PhD candidates can increase their salary by helping in the teaching work of the group (30 h /semester).
