SOST-CO2: NEW INDUSTRIAL AND SUSTAINABLE USES OF CO2 Programme: CENIT - Programa Ingenio 2010 Duration: 01-01-08 / 31-12-11 Summary: The main objective of the project is to develop CO 2 utilization technologies, complementing capture technologies, as an alternative to the geological storage only. The combination of CO 2 capture-transformation-utilization and large scale utilization will be prioritized. The implementation of this technology will involve research, development and validation of new concepts and will integrate solutions to enhance the CO 2 life cycle. This project offers an obvious environmental approach, since it will not only reduce CO 2 emissions and its usage in different industrial applications but also develop technologies for sustainable energy production (e.g. biofuels and hydrogen). |

Programme: Torres Quevedo - Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación · Dr. Sònia Guri
Duration: 2007 - 2009 · Dr. Ignasi Salvadó Duration: 2008 - 2011 Summary: The Torres Quevedo Programme, of the Spanish Ministry of Innovation and Science, aims to facilitate the incorporation of academic, scientific or technologist personnel into the private sector to carry out R&D projects or to make previous technical feasibility studies. It is mainly directed towards SMEs, which might not possess the knowledge, skills or means to acquire, develop or implement a new technology. Furthermore, it fosters the interaction between the public and the private sector and actively contributes to an efficient knowledge transfer. Since 2008 this programme is also included in the Spanish National Plan for Scientific Research, Development and Technological Innovation 2008-2011 The funding varies between 25% and 75% depending on the type of project and the beneficiary, with a maximum of three years per researcher. In addition the program aims to support non profit research institutions. |
