Characteristics

The nanotechnology unit is conceived to provide the instruments needed for the characterization at the nanoscopic level with the aim of developing technologies that exploit the specific properties of the materials at the nanometer scale.

All equipments present at the nanotechnology lab have been installed during the last two years. They are all last generation equipments which allow a very competitive research in the field of nanotechnology.

In spite of the short time that the nanotechnology lab has been in operation, it has contributed in a remarkable way to the research of the members of the partners institutions.

The different equipments present at the laboratory, some of them unique, allow a very broad and complete analysis of the materials properties at the micro- and nanometer scale in the areas of:

  • Nano-optics: SNOM-RAMAN
  • Mechanical properties at the nanoscale
  • Particle size analysis
  • Low-temperature nano calometry for thin and ultra-thin layers
  • Nano electrochemistry
