Dr. Monty Alger, the new Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Air Products, visited MatGas' facilities.

During his visit he had the opportunity to see our five laboratories and meet our staff. He encouraged all of us to continue with enthusiasm our good job.

Short Bio:

 

Dr. Monty Alger joined Air Products in February 2007 as vice president and chief technology officer. In this position, he has oversight responsibility for the company’s R&D activities, as well as HRP (Human Resources Planning) accountability for the entire research community.

Prior to joining Air Products, Dr. Alger spent 23 years with General Electric where he was the general manager of technology for GE Advanced Materials (silicones and quartz) business; this became Momentive Performance Materials when Apollo Management, L.P. purchased it in late 2006.

Dr. Alger was born in 1957 and is a native of Rumney, NH. He received B.S. and M.S. degrees in chemical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 1978, and a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1982.

Dr. Alger serves on the Chemical Engineering Advisory Council at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and is a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. He is also a certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt.
